 ACTIVITIES AS AT 1 NOVEMBER 2022

1.           All rates quoted include VAT (Value Added Tax). Should the prevailing rate or levy change or another tax levy be introduced during the duration of the contract, Mongena Private Game Lodge reserves the right to amend the quoted rates accordingly, without prior notification. 

2.           All rates exclude Dinokeng Game Reserve North Conservation fees which are payable online - https://www.q2b.co.za/DGROnline/Index/1622

3.           20% deposit is applicable with any accommodation booking; should the accommodation booking fall within 7 days prior to arrival full payment is due.  Special offers from time to time might have different payment conditions.  WEDDING, CONFERENCE & TOUROPERATOR BOOKINGS have their own specific terms.

4.           Mongena Game Lodge reserves the right to cancel any booking if full payment not received on due date and to restrict one night bookings over weekends, school and public holidays

5.           All room account balances must be settled in full on departure by cash or credit card.

6.           Check-in time is from 14h00 on day of arrival; rooms should be vacated by 10h00 on day of departure.  Please advise us of any planned late arrivals (after 18h00)

7.           Guests are limited to the number of beds booked per room. An extra mattress can be arranged at an additional charge where feasible.

8.           Children aged 2 and under are accommodated at no charge if sleeping on existing beds. An extra mattress/cot can be arranged at an additional charge.

9.           Mongena Private Game Lodge is licensed therefore no own liquor is allowed to be brought onto the premises.

10.        Special dietary requirements (vegan, dairy/glutenfree etc, strictly Halaal, Kosher etc) will carry a surcharge.

11.        Mongena Game Lodge reserves the right to relocate bush barbeques, weddings and events to suitable venues should unfavourable weather conditions prevail.

12.        Additional drinks consumed on activities besides 1 item which is included will be charged as per current wine and beverage list.  Spirits, mixes, speciality wines/champagne can be pre-ordered at extra cost. Coffee/Tea/hot chocolate is offered on early morning game drive with water only on guided bush walks.  Rusks are served on early morning game drives with snacks on late morning and afternoon game drives and sunset cruise.

13.        Drinks with bush barbeques are at additional cost and need to be pre-ordered as per current wine and beverage list

14.        Mongena Game Lodge reserves the right to restrict waiting time for delayed booked activity guests to 10 minutes, whereafter the vehicle will depart and no refund will be due for the missed activity cost.

15.        No refund is applicable after start of scheduled activity should unfavourable weather conditions necessitate a termination of the activity.

Cancellation Policy

·             Up to 8 days prior to arrival – forfeit accommodation deposit

·             7 days and less prior to arrival - 100% cancellation fee will be charged for accommodation and activities booked

·             100% cancellation fee is applicable for bush barbeques/special events cancelled/deferred within 48 hours of start time.

·             Should a booking be cancelled due to a medical related issue, any monies received will be credited to be redeemed within 6 months of original travelling/activity date. (Medical certificate to be submitted & subject to management approval).  Should the new date fall in a different rate/season category the difference will be due for payment.

IN CONSIDERATION of being permitted to: 1] access properties (“the Mongena Properties”) owned, controlled and/or managed by Mongena Private Game Lodge (Pty) Ltd (“Mongena”); 2] access or utilise facilities and/or lodging (“the Mongena Facilities”) owned, controlled and/or managed by Mongena; 3] utilise any vehicles, equipment, furniture, fittings or any other similar items (“the Mongena Equipment”) owned, controlled and/or managed by Mongena; or otherwise being permitted to [4] partake in any game and/or bird viewing activities,  hiking activities, hot air balloon safaris, boat cruises and/or any other forms of recreational, sports, leisure or tourism activities of any kind offered by Mongena (collectively “the Mongena Activities”), I, the undersigned, HEREBY:

1.        declare that I enter the Mongena Properties and Mongena Facilities and utilise the Mongena Facilities and Mongena Equipment at my own risk.

2.        acknowledge that the right of admission to the Mongena Properties and/or Mongena Facilities and the right to partake in any Mongena Activities is and will remain strictly reserved in favour of Mongena.

3.        acknowledge and agree that access to or use of the Mongena Properties or Mongena Facilities, or participation in the Mongena Activities or use of the Mongena Equipment may involve the risk of serious injury, and or death,  and or illness, and or infections, and or inconvenience, and or damage to property, as a consequence of which I hereby assume full responsibility for the risk of bodily injury, death, or damage to property whether or not due to negligence while partaking in any of the Mongena Activities or while accessing or using the Mongena Properties or  Mongena Facilities, or using the Mongena Equipment.

4.        release, waive, discharge and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mongena and/or entities that may be associated with Mongena through control, ownership or contractually (collectively “the Mongena Entities”), their agents, employees, assigns, officers, executive members, shareholders and/or directors, for and against all liability, costs or damages, including attorneys' fees incurred defending any claim whatsoever, arising out of any claim, injury, or occurrence resulting from loss of life, personal injury or damage to property while accessing the Mongena Properties and/or Mongena Facilities or while utilising the Mongena Facilities or Mongena Equipment or while partaking in the Mongena Activities.

5.        acknowledge that this waiver of liability and indemnity shall bind me personally, my executors, heirs, assigns and next of kin and be applicable to any and all accidents, injuries, or other similar events and I hereby personally accept all liability and responsibility for my actions.

6.        declare that I also hereby assume liability under and in terms of this waiver of liability and indemnity for or on behalf of my minor children, my guests, my agents and my employees who access the Mongena Properties or Mongena Facilities or who utilise the Mongena Facilities or Mongena Equipment or who partake in the Mongena Activities.

7.        undertake to use the Mongena Equipment and the Mongena Facilities only for their intended purpose.

8.        agree to compensate Mongena for any reasonable and market related costs and expenses in order to repair or replace any parts of the Mongena Properties, Mongena Facilities or Mongena Equipment which may have been damaged due to causes which may be attributed to me, my minor children, my guests, my agents and my employees who access the Mongena Properties or Mongena Facilities or who utilise the Mongena Facilities or Mongena Equipment or who partake in the Mongena Activities

9.        agree to strictly comply with the verbal and/or written instructions issued and/or conditions imposed by Mongena or on its behalf by any employee, agent or representative while accessing the Mongena Properties and/or Mongena Facilities or while utilising the Mongena Facilities or Mongena Equipment or while participating in the Mongena Activities.

10.      acknowledge that I have read, understand, and voluntarily sign this waiver of liability and indemnity, and further understand that no oral representations, statements, or inducements apart from this document have been made.

11.      consent to the process of my personal information or that of my minor children in accordance with the provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013, for all purposes related to this waiver of liability and indemnity.
